Habitation check vs MOT
An MOT checks the base vehicle for roadworthiness. A Habitation Check focuses on living systems — electrics, gas, water, heating & safety, bodywork, damp survey and more — for motorhomes and caravans.
It is not a legal MOT substitute. Running gear is visual/operational only. Some warranties or insurers may ask for evidence — check your handbook or policy. Even brand-new vans often benefit (preference — not a legal mandate for all new vans).
Habitation Check from £269. Mobile or static (depot), same price. First 20 miles free, then 85p per mile outside our free radius, there and back. Call-out charge £17.50 (once per visit).
